Igniculus · a lamp you design

A little fire that listens.

Igniculus (Latin for a little fire) is a hand-finished lamp with a living flame inside a resin shell that you design yourself. It glows like embers, flickers like a candle, and moves with the sound of the room, without recording a thing.

What it does

A lamp first, with a fire inside.

The first edition has no Wi-Fi and needs no phone: two knobs on its base do everything.

A flame that listens

The fire follows the sound in the room: it flares on the beat and cools like coals. Only the loudness is measured, inside the lamp. Nothing is recorded, stored or sent.

Two knobs, no app

One knob for light: brightness, on and off, and a sleep timer. One for fire: calm to lively, the next mood and the next colour. No app, no account, no Wi-Fi.

Fire moods

A cozy glow, a breathing light, a candle flicker, crackling embers and a flame in the wind, plus a calm, solid light for reading.

Warm to cool

From warm fire and candlelight to cooler moods, with a press of the fire knob.

Plug in and it glows

It runs from a USB-C power adapter, like a phone, and comes on like any lamp.

Together, later

A plug-in Wi-Fi module is planned: phone control, schedules, free updates, and lamps that play together as one. Reserve it for free; reservations tell us when to build it.

The shell

Your pattern, pressed into light.

The shell is 10 by 10 by 20 cm, printed in clear resin here in Lund. You choose what goes on it: ten kumiko patterns from Japanese woodwork, three glass looks, the classics, or a picture of your own. Colour is printed on the inside of each panel, so the light shines through it like stained glass.
