Your lamp gets better with age.
Every IgnisLab lamp can be updated at home, for free. Updates add features, refine the light and fix bugs, and your settings, Wi-Fi and name stay as they are.
Igniculus firmware 2.0 is out for the lamps with Wi-Fi. The
first edition without Wi-Fi gets its own update steps when it ships, and so do
Komorebi and Hidden Fire. Every update is free, for every lamp, for good.
How it works
One tap, or one file.

The easy way: check for updates On your home Wi-Fi, open your lamp’s page (for example
http://igniculus.local), go to Lamp settings and tap Check for updates. If there is a new version, tap Install. The lamp also tells you by itself when one is ready. -
Or by hand: install a file Download the latest file from the list below. On your lamp’s page choose Lamp settings, then Install a file, and pick it.

Let it restart The lamp installs the update and restarts by itself in under a minute. Your colours, schedule, name and Wi-Fi are kept.
Keep the lamp plugged in while it updates. That is the only rule. The lamp password is on the card that came with it; you type it once per phone.

Common questions.
Setting up a new lamp
Plug the lamp in. One light breathes blue: it is ready. Scan the QR code on
the card in the box, or join the Wi-Fi called Igniculus- plus four
letters, using the password on the card. The setup page opens by itself: pick
your home Wi-Fi and type its password. The lamp breathes while it connects and
flashes green when it is in. Red means it could not connect, and the page tells
you why.
I can’t find my lamp’s page
Make sure your phone is on the same Wi-Fi as the lamp, then open
http://igniculus.local, or the name you gave your lamp followed by
.local. Some Android phones don’t understand
.local names: use the number address shown at the end of setup
instead, and save it to your home screen.
Moving house or changing Wi-Fi?
On the lamp’s page, open Lamp settings and tap Change next to Wi-Fi. If the old network is already gone, the lamp opens its own setup Wi-Fi by itself after two minutes, so you can set it up again from your phone.
Starting over
Switch the lamp off and on five times in a row, each time within ten seconds. It blinks amber and forgets its Wi-Fi, name and settings. Its password stays the same, so the card in the box keeps working.
Does the lamp record sound?
No. In the music modes the microphone only measures how loud the room is, inside the lamp. No sound is stored, and nothing is sent anywhere.
Is it safe to update?
Yes. The lamp checks the new version before it switches over, and an update that fails changes nothing. Just don’t unplug it halfway. If anything goes sideways, write to us and we’ll get you glowing again.
